comment How many drones to transfer to expansion(s)?
Is there any easy way to count how many workers you have harvesting minerals if you're on one of those maps where the Vespene Geyser is actually inside your mineral patch? Previously I was just taking a geographic half of my workers and sending them over.

comment How to efficiently scout early drops en route?
Gaining air superiority will discourage your opponent from going drops, but this isn't a real 'solution'. If there was a catch-all anti drop strategy save building 99^99 photon cannons in your base then no one would be using drops.

comment What are some recommendations for mage character builds?
Just don't forget that mages can also be healers. I actually ran with Wynne and myself both as Spirit Healers which made everything faceroll easy.

Dragon Age is overwhelmingly difficult if you don't use mages at all.

comment StarCraft 2 leaver's resources
Just to add some important information. All the resources the dropped player continues to harvest are shared with allies. And producing any units/buildings with the dropped player requires your own resources, but does not use your own food count.

comment (When) is a Planetary Fortress useful?
+1, the Planetary fortress rush has been used against me in 4v4, by all 4 enemies at the same time. It was very well coordinated and nearly impossible to stop unless you're already prepared for it.

comment Would you recommend upgrading shields or armor first?
Just to add to this answer, the Armor upgrade is more valuable against Terrans if they use EMP.

comment Dealing with the dreaded Terran Base Race
@tzenes I love Phoenix as well (especially against Zerg for overlord hunting), it's just that to me they seem very difficult to use against Terran. The units they are countered by (marines) are too small and numerous to pick up with the Gravitron Beam effectively, and Missile Turrets make it hard to harass the mineral line. At least against Zerg you get to deny the enemy of his map vision, but I'm unconvinced about the benefits towards Terran.

@tzenes Stop being right all the time! Will make my own separate question for Protoss map control as it is an issue I'm struggling with compared to the other two races.

comment What does it mean to have map control?
@tzenes That is true. Often times I find that I spent too much money on observers and even if I know what my opponent is doing I still can't respond to their threats (especially Mutalisk harass or dropships in multiple areas) fast enough because of my slow zealots or stalkers, unless I just camp in my base. +1 to your answer because I forgot the speed aspect, since it's unrealistic to assume that one can see the entire map all the time.

I have tried something very similar, getting a warp prism and warping in Zealots behind his mineral line. Usually the resources it cost to do that puts me slightly behind in army size and I lose at my own base, while Terran dropships are part of their regular MMM composition anyway so they don't lose much by going for dropships.

@Carlo Fast expand is usually suicidal against Terran, as it puts you at a huge army size disadvantage at the time the Terran usually makes their MM ball push.

Thank you for your answer, I agree that scouting and map control are a super important aspect of sc2. The funny thing is that, when I watch the replay, in fact neither of us have map control which is why each of us doesn't know where the other's army is so we end up at each other's bases. For me, it's hard to have both map control and at the same time be able to defend my base. If I leave my base to take control of the watch towers, I lose the advantage of being able to force field my base's choke.
