I like just about any type of game, but I'm a really big fan of old school (and new school) RPGs, particularly Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy series, Wild Arms, Breath of Fire series. I'm also very muchly into playing drums on the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games, for which I hook up my Roland TD-12k electronic drum kit.

Does the Rock Band 3 Midi-Pro Adapter work in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock? So it works on some Wii GH games but not the PS3 equivalents. Still no solution over a year later, what a shame. |

Is there a way to “teleport” in the iPhone version of Secret of Mana? @Josh: I can verify the select trick doesn't work, it was one of the first things I tried after getting booted out! I'm convinced there's no way to teleport on the iPhone without save hacking and the fact that they changed the layout indicates that they went to specific lengths to prevent it. |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? @Josh: not at all, go ahead! |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? @Josh: that is the first time (in my 18ish years on several different platforms) I have ever heard of the nudity page on those magic books. I laughed so hard when I read that - I'm going to be looking out for it in the future! |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? @Josh: maybe you'd find this old GF thread interesting :-) |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? @Josh: lol I believe it's a glitch. There's two different hex offsets in the save file that describe the current location, interestingly enough. I'm speculating that one of these offsets wasn't written properly when saving in the SNES version and soft-resetting didn't clear this value either. So for certain locations in the game, the saved value of one offset mixed with the in-memory value of the other offset teleports you. In the iPhone version, they appear to have fixed either the incorrect saving or clearing the value on reset. I've tried everything I can think of and it can't be done ;-) |

What day is Nintendo's eShop updated on? @DisgruntledGoat: thanks, I did think that we'd got the update a day later, but it makes sense that it was a simultaneous release. |

What day is Nintendo's eShop updated on? Well, after today's pitiful update, I can at least mark this as the correct answer. |

What day is Nintendo's eShop updated on? The title implies that this is specific to the US eShop... or are they all updated on the same day? I'm sure I remember the UK and US virtual console releases being different days on the Wii, not sure if the same still applies. I guess we'll see tomorrow. |

How do I repair a scratched game disc? It's not as well known, but some publishing companies will allow you to send the damaged disc to them and will send you another one out for a very small fee. Check the game's instruction manual for a telephone number and give it a try. |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? @Josh: done. I left out the location editing stuff -- that's an answer for an as yet unasked question :-) |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? Theory panned out... so "teleporting" is possible too. |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? @Josh: not sure. I have the PAL version on the Wii but I haven't tried it. The reason it doesn't work on the iPhone is because there's no button-mapped soft-reset - you have to enter the settings to perform the reset. I just did a little reverse engineering and found the byte locations for sword orbs in the save file, though, so it's all good :-) I have a theory about the hex editing the current location, too. |

Is there an 8th Sword orb in Secret of Mana? Note, for anyone wondering, this glitch won't work on the iPhone version of Secret of Mana. You can hex edit the save file if you jailbreak your iPhone, though. |
