comment Is your ranked MMR separate from your unranked MMR?
Exactly like I said, there seems to be conflicting information out there. But, after losing thirteen consecutive unranked games against platinums, I finally started getting matched up against silvers and golds with unranked. But then, switching back to ranked, for those games I was still getting matched against platinums. So I think I'm finally seeing evidence of the two separate MMRs diverging; I just had to play enough unranked games.

comment HoTS 2nd mission, how to stop Nova?
I don't think this is correct. I chose Nova over Tosh in WoL, I have the saved game, and I got the [incorrect] canonical dialogue. Is there another version of the dialogue?

comment Is it possible to see the other players races once I am in the game in Starcraft 2?
Is there a hotkey for "Toggle Alliance"? I suspect not, but just wondering. (Never mind, found the answer here: gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/7600/…)

Underscoring the "it's okay if you lose" part. There's no reason to fear playing 1v1. Think of it this way: there's nothing you can do to avoid losing about half your games. Even if you improve, the matchup system will continuously match you with better players accordingly. So, as long as you keep playing, you'll end up with 50% losses (of course you'll win 50% as well). Thus there's no reason to have any fear of losing; this same thing is happening to everybody, all the way up to Masters.
