comment 2 PCs playing same game require to download patch 2 times, any solution?
+1: This is the correct answer: copy'n'paste over the LAN is peer-to-peer networking by definition.

comment What kind of gear should I choose, given my build orientation (STR, INT or DEX)?
higher lvl (pure) armors may require higher base STR stats. There are plenty of gear with DEX requirements that a melee character can't meet without sacrificing passive points to buy higher DEX

comment What items are worth picking up?
I found, early game, sell everything that isn't a scroll back to the vendor, you will accrue more scrolls this way. After a few levels, you won't ever lack scrolls and you can then stash the components instead of selling them back.

as a workaround, the op could bind the middle mouse to auto-walk (default is Q iirc)

comment How to move an installed game from one Steam library folder to another?
While I have not had my steam folder separated like the OP, I have moved the full steam folder several times and across computers (upgrades) by turning off steam and moving the folder. Steam figured this out right away and recovered pretty easily as you stated.

comment Is it possible to force Steam to convert all games to 'the new format' in one go?
That is the same thing as I suggested, only it automagically finds the folders instead of the hard-coded text based find'n'replace I suggested (and therefore better). If only there were an "unattended" switch in steam.

note that it may still require user intervention, in which case this is not useful. If it works without user intervetnion, BUT the call does not return properly, you could always use the AT command to schedule one each night while you are away from the computer etc.

try it with call steam.exe steam://validate/<id> (possibly also add if needed -login USERNAME PASSWORD). The valve docs say steam:\\ can be run from the start->run prompt, but perhaps not from a cmd box.

comment Graphics colour problem
this may be baked-in lighting which would be untouched by settings (more or less). Additionally I know that Dead Island suffered from this to a certain extent when the gamma and or brightness was too high.

comment Where does the term “Roguelike game” come from?
I'll get flamed for this, but Diablo (1) was a very stripped down roguelike game. Roguelike get a large part of their flexibility because they lack art assets. When I loaded it up the first time, I noted the basic similarities is shared with the rogue-like games I had played on the amiga, atari, pc, cp/m etc.etc
