comment Is there a way to keep Zombie Pigmen off of minecart tracks in the Nether?
Thanks for writing this up! I've been thinking that glass over the rails would be a solution for this question, but I hadn't gotten around to trying it out. Have you tested this?

@Oak I disagree with your edit: I gave two reasons, so there are some. Irrelevant to my particular playstyle, as it happens, but there are some. So I'm asking if there are more.

@MatthewRead How about "Can I improve my gameplay/Am I missing out on something by turning off auto-reload?"

They will be following you if and only if their faces are looking directly at you.

@fireDude67 Yes.

comment All the contents of my shelter exploded, killing me and leaving my shelter virtually unscathed. How could this happen?
@John: Creepers do make stone footstep sounds on stone (I just checked), but that is rather quiet. And there is still the sizzle before exploding, which is enough time to do something if you're really fast, or at least know what happened.

comment How does one make an Animal mob spawner?
Note: This answer is now obsolete. Animals now have a greatly decreased spawning rate — they are expected to survive, rather than despawn and respawn — so that it is not practical to farm their natural spawns. However, at the same time as this change, breeding was introduced, allowing animals to be famed by breeding existing animals.

beside me — aha! I was wondering how the creeper got closer to the door than the cave, thus my looking for routes other than the caves, but I now visualize that that does exactly fit a creeper's attack pattern. I'm still a little surprised that only two stone blocks were destroyed, but I suppose the densely-packed furniture shielded everything but the floor directly below (and a creeper blast will only go through one layer of stone).

revised Do Cave Spider Spawners work by a different set of rules than other Monster Spawners?
Solid ground isn't required for spawners.
