About me

Known elsewhere on the Internet (including Steam and the rest of Stack Exchange) as BoltClock, I'm a teen software developer who relishes hacking PHP on the Web, C# on his PC and Objective-C on his Mac. I adore math, Jesus, Apple and π, but not apple pie!

I'm not a hardcore gamer by any rate, but I do play some games. Puzzle's probably the genre that gets me the most.

My 5 most favorite games of all time (so you may see me patrolling these tags most often):

  1. The Ratchet & Clank franchise, by Insomniac Games, who are awesome.

  2. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. I often prefer Knuckles to Sonic though, for some reason.

  3. The reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise. Admittedly, I was never interested in Lara Croft's previous capers, but Crystal Dynamics was right: I'm really captivated by the idea of going through this brand new, character-building adventure of survival with a fellow (albeit fictitious) human being.

  4. The RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise, originally created by the talented Chris Sawyer, who is also awesome.

  5. Team Fortress 2, my favorite class being (although I main as ).

Check out my site. Read my tech blog. Follow me on Twitter (if you dare).

Indeed. I touched on DR usage in the last paragraph, but missed the point about misdirection.

It's generally unwise to guess when you have other options, such as scanning the other uncovered areas for places where you don't need to guess. It may delay inevitable guesses, but then again it may also uncover enough squares to cancel the chance factor in that area altogether.

This is known as chording, both in the competitive Minesweeper community and outside the Minesweeper context.

There's more to it than UI changes. See my answer.
