About me

Known elsewhere on the Internet (including Steam and the rest of Stack Exchange) as BoltClock, I'm a teen software developer who relishes hacking PHP on the Web, C# on his PC and Objective-C on his Mac. I adore math, Jesus, Apple and π, but not apple pie!

I'm not a hardcore gamer by any rate, but I do play some games. Puzzle's probably the genre that gets me the most.

My 5 most favorite games of all time (so you may see me patrolling these tags most often):

  1. The Ratchet & Clank franchise, by Insomniac Games, who are awesome.

  2. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. I often prefer Knuckles to Sonic though, for some reason.

  3. The reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise. Admittedly, I was never interested in Lara Croft's previous capers, but Crystal Dynamics was right: I'm really captivated by the idea of going through this brand new, character-building adventure of survival with a fellow (albeit fictitious) human being.

  4. The RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise, originally created by the talented Chris Sawyer, who is also awesome.

  5. Team Fortress 2, my favorite class being (although I main as ).

Check out my site. Read my tech blog. Follow me on Twitter (if you dare).

comment Does Wheatley actually look for my dead body after an hour?
I tried it way back. If I only did in response to your question, I wouldn't have been able to post my findings within less than 10 minutes of you asking ;)

Good thing I play in windowed mode, so I get to do other things while waiting (like... answering questions!) :)

comment Bonus points (specifically) and how to get them
I main defensive Pyro, and often 25% to 50% of my total score comes from bonus points (anywhere between 20 and upwards of 120 at the end of a match). Extinguishing teammates and unsapping buildings is pretty much my day job and I love it. I help my teammates, and I get credit for it — a win-win situation indeed.

revised Bonus points (specifically) and how to get them
capitalize names, and engineers receive bonus points for unsapping other buildings

comment How can I tell if a teleporter exit was picked up when I'm at the entrance?
@Aubergine: It doesn't help me distinguish between being destroyed and being picked up.

comment What types of kills are counted on Strange Flamethrowers?
These days, instead of screencapping every single reflect kill I make, I just estimate my Degreaser's reflect kill count at 40% of its flame kill count. At almost 1400 flame kills as of this writing, that's approximately 560 reflect kills. Not too shabby... until you compare them to my Flare Gun's 2500+ kills.
