Once, I was a blogger. Now, I'm just a smartass who loves to type too much and answer questions of all sorts. Not that there's much difference.

comment why does my carbuncle always use Gust and not Gouge?
Because eventually you will, and you may wish to keybind them in advance. Much for the same reason you have the later abilities for your class listed, even though you're not their level yet.

comment Which game is this animation of a guy with a green shirt, backpack, and blue pants from?
@BlueRaja-DannyPflughoeft In my defense, I have not been on Arqade for a long time (since about the time the ITG debate was raging) and hadn't seen a valid one be answered.

@ton.yeung They "share a cooldown" because they occupy the same location on the pet bar (at least as far as the keyboard mode one works - I have never played XIV with a controller so I can't speak to that). They're both in your pet spellbook because, for example, as a Scholar, I want both Eos and Selene's Embrace spells keybound (they're not the same). You can keybind spells of pets that aren't active at current.

Hot holy crap, an ITG that both had a salient A/V artifact and got answered. It's a christmas miracle!

comment How can I get the computers to stop pestering me?
@Paralytic That is because in multiplayer, the AI is engineered to not approach the player with deals (or threats, etc). This behavior is unique only to multiplayer, however.

This does not provide an answer to the question. To critique or request clarification from an author, leave a comment below their post - you can always comment on your own posts, and once you have sufficient reputation you will be able to comment on any post.

+1. One of the most articulate voices in policy debates I've ever seen on Meta, and the sort of person we need around here, IMHO.

comment What benefits are there to having a homeworld with a higher threat level?
@Sterno That's basically it. And why does there need to be a reason? Building cool-looking stuff is its own reward, IMHO.

comment What changes does the Starbow mod make to units, spells, and tech trees?
Not sure why this was VtC'd - it's a solid question (even if it is "just" a compilation of data) with as far as my minor googling/reading of TL can show, no source of an answer as of yet.

comment Does competitive gaming have anti-doping regulations?
@Yuki There are no exceptions to the above provided at all, at least within Dreamhack's rules. I assume you allude to stuff like medical cannabis?

Thanks for providing an improved version; I was going to be moderately off-put if I'd written that answer (sans some improvements for a more general question like yours) for nothing.

comment How do I brew beer?
@spartacus That is by design - if you know the ingredients of a given recipe, you can actually save yourself the cost of purchasing the recipe. I believe there's a popup that tells you as much, actually.

For Android users, they'll want to force-stop the application through the Settings -> Applications menu to correct this behavior. (Had the same issue)

comment Civilization 5: Does Arts funding and Science funding cancel each other out?
I'll test this out when I get home tonight, but math says no - assuming 10 GPPT and both active, 10 * .67 * 1.33 = 8.911. Assuming they're multiplicative, that is.

comment How deep underwater is Rapture?
@badp I am not insinuating that the spoiler is unrelated to the question, but that it is unrelated to Bioshock 1. There should be a disclaimer outside the spoiler stating that it is for Bioshock Infinite for people who've finished Bioshock 1 but not Infinite and mouse over it assuming it's a Bioshock 1 spoiler.

@MarcoGeertsma Usually it is only done for questions that have legitimate merit and obvious broad-base usefulness, but yes, it's a codified "allowed" thing. People's opinions of this range greatly, as you'd expect.

The question needs significant grammatical cleanup and the bolding is entirely unnecessary, but yes, the unrelated spoiler is at least gone.

Really not cool putting spoilers that do not relate to the game in question without an explicit indication as such...

comment What is the drop rate for the legendary weapon “Infinity”?
The most recent version is here. I'm loathe to provide that as an answer because it's so nebulous and doesn't answer the question at all, really. Using the gearcalc can help with cooking up specific things.

Only drops from Vermivormous or chests/vending machines, so... good luck with that. (Again, just make it in Gibbed's editor.)
