Does game speed in Civ-V affect the viability of paths to victory? Yeah, I agree a slow game seems to make a military victory more viable - the long period before units become obsolete is important, especially if they're your civ's special unit. Also at slow speeds culture and science take a long time to progress, so providing you keep your troops alive and don't have to build new ones, conquest works well. |

What are the drawbacks of using explosives? @TheShiftExchange Agreed. My hunch is that once they're dead they're the fragments can't be destroyed later, but would be good to test. |

What does the full research tree look like? Yeah, several (or all) techs seem require you get to a certain point in the game - I didn't get Carapace Armour unlocked for research until I'd seen an Outsider (this may be a coincidence). |

What determines if a soldier is gifted with psionic powers? So assuming the soldier's Will affects whether they're gifted, if you're playing on Ironman, you should wait until your soldiers are Colonels before testing them to maximise your chances. Kind of annoying to be honest. |

Should I accept embassies from AI civilizations? Just as a note, from what I've seen they seem to offer money when you don't have Writing yet and therefore they can't offer to accept an embassy in exchange. |
