comment What does Dominate Mind do?
That's the most conclusive answer I got so far, so thank you for that. I still would like to know what the dialogues are where affect mind will always fail but dominate won't. Otherwise it seems like a pretty useless power, considering that you don't really unlock something new.

@Foosh: Nope, it's an ironman save and I already sold them back to my vassal. Are you saying this works for you?

comment Is there a way to reduce the risk of a disaster?
It's possible that I assumed that if there is no progress, it would decay somehow. I guess just stopping the progress is not enough.

I looked at the wiki (see the link in my Q), but it doesn't say what makes the progress bar/disaster disappear again. I will see if 25% manpower really fixes this.

Well, that's what I am asking. :) Does it go away, and how? In my Ottoman game I can't get rid of the Peasant war bar, even though it has not risen in years. but maybe I need to meet some criteria to make it disappear.

Nope, that's where I would've expected it too. There is nothing in any tab, that's the problem.

comment Is Hearthstone a game-within-game?
Yes, that's not a game within a game. Take Maniac Mansion within Day of the Tentacle or Poker within Red Dead Redemption, those would qualify as game within a game.

Ah ok, I get it now. My comment didn't make much sense. Has been some time since I posted the question and I got confused about the situation. ;) Thanks for doing the research!

If you say "they remain your vassals", who is "they"? Your vassal or the vassal of your vassal?
