comment Does my aircraft fully repair itself?
What about damage taken by water? Does that raise over time as well?

comment What is the point of duchies if you're king?
Isn't it enough if he is any kind of vassal under you, so making him Count would suffice? I think you only need to have a higher title than the one his claim is on or he will leave your realm once the claim is pressed.

comment If the father dies before his child is born, will it lose all claims?
That's what I feared. A bit unrealistic though, I thought you get a claim because you are related, not because you happen to be around at the time of death. ;)

Yes, married matrilineally. The problem is that the claim does not show in the sons character view. Shouldn't it?

comment How does protecting trade work in Conquest of Paradise?
From what I read the issue is connected to supply ship range, which seems to be fixed at 150. Not sure though. Some people had luck moving their ships close to the trade node first, at which point they could actually protect it.

This is likely bugged somehow. As Portugal and Castille, I had no trouble protecting the Western Europe Trade Node. So it might have something to do with the location of your country. Same goes for Colonial Trade Nodes.

comment Releasing a vassal as a vassal?
Yep, saw that too. That doesn't really answer what happens if you release them yourself though. Forcing an enemy to release a country doesn't make them their Vassal either, so there is a substantial difference between peacefully releasing someone and doing so by war.

comment How to remove “Backward Monarch”?
Possible, as I am "still" an Arch-duchy. Are you just guessing or do you have anything to back up your theory?

Did you even read the question?

comment Where the heck is Timbuktu?
@George I am pretty sure that is the origin of the achievement name then. EU4 has a Swedish publisher (Paradox Interactive) and many of the achievement names are funny references or inside jokes. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, that helped me find it ingame. Its still not a complete answer, so I will hold off accepting it.

Huh, I thought I made the intent quite clear in the question body. I kept the title short and catchy on purpose. And finding Timbuktu actually is the reason why I opened the question, so I don't think its too misleading really.

Thanks. Any idea how you can raise loyalty again after it dropped?

comment Why is the pope so erratic?
I don't think this is the scripting language of the game (I think the game is written in Lua), I think these are more like definition files that the game reads in at the start. As ratchet freak said, its more like a data format like JSON. Don't see too many things wrong with it, also it makes modding easy as hell.

I just started a new game with Mainz, same thing happened again. This time I did not even join any Alliances.

comment Can I upgrade obsolete units, and if so, how?
Obviously, because there is no way to change the ship type manually. Still - good addition.

To clarify: The trade increases on the way when it is steered?
