comment Can you cut a smoker's tongue after it wraps around you?
You can also drop (not throw) a gas can on the tongue to break it. You do not have to ignite the can.

comment How can I make Civilization V more difficult?
I play with the Communitas mod which may affect this, but I've found Raging Barbarians does more harm to the AI since they are horrible at tactics.

comment In EU4, is there any way to set my ship to auto explore with an explorer?
Careful! It's very easy to go one tile too far and dooming your explorer to die from attrition. This is my least favorite aspect of playing the colonizing nations. :(

comment Civilization 5 unending turn?
Try right-clicking on the choose production button. If that doesn't work, the previous autosave may be your only hope. I highly recommend setting the frequency to every turn in the settings. Apparently, Civ5 is still not fully baked.

comment How can I get the tourism bonus for having the same religion as another civilization?
At least half of a city's population must follow a religion for the city to be following it, and its icon will appear. Does the civilization's religion work similar or is it really as you say: the religion with the most followers? For example, a pop 7 city requires 4 followers. Your saying that a pop 100 civ I I'll have a majority religion as soon as it gains it's first follower. Doesn't it need 50 followers? Or perhaps 5 of its 10 cities must have hat same religion.

comment How can I get a Zulu domination vic at Emperor level?
If you can get two rivals to fight and take cities, you can take those same cities later and liberate them to offset your warmonger penalties.

comment How to protect fledgling colonies?
The subsidies sounds promising, hopefully allowing them to hire mercenaries. But if I enforce peace and they refuse, I'll be in a war with Portugal since full nations that declare war on a colony automatically declare war on its owner.

comment Why can't I convert from Animism to Catholic?
But it should still list all the modifiers. One of them will probably eclipse the others. For example, in my Castilian game I have had some events that converted provinces to Protestant with a -25% local missionary strength penalty. With bonuses totalling around 6%, my missionaries have no chance.

comment Best methods of pissing off other civilizations?
AFAIK they only get upset if you deny a request for help--not regular trades. And you can make demands to anger them, but making unfair trade offers in your favor won't work.

comment Should I ever move my first settler?
I agree with your analysis. The experiment they ran was bogus since it depends on the single, specific map they generated (at least I hope they reused the same map). The unrevealed map will determine whether moving is better or not, but of course you can't know that until you move.

comment How to convert my provices more quickly?
@mmyers By "special" I meant something other than the normal mechanism of hiring a new Adm/Dipl/Mil advisor when the current one dies. I've never seen an advisor with that bonus and so wanted to double-check. That would have come in very handy in my first game as the Ottomans.
