comment Why am I not getting a railroad production bonus?
You can see my trade route. There are no enemies on it.

None. However, a few turns later I suddenly head the bonus. Does it take three or four turns for them to start appearing?

comment How can I select/activate a unit behind another unit?
Well, duh, obviously the question was asked because a regular click simply didn't work. That was what the question was about.

The first doesn't always work. The second is a good tip.

comment How can I modify Civ 5 for a longer opening and midgame and shorter endgame?
Somehow that never makes the game take more time in the bronze age. My soldiers are still moving at 1 mile per century.

I hear you. I would love a bronze/iron age civ.

Ten more hours to go.

No, first trick didn't work at all. Whenever I clicked on the shield of the unit behind the top unit, the top unit would activate. But clicking repeatedly (i.e. double-clicking) did help.

comment Wii controllers keep losing connection. What can I do?
I know that BT is bluetooth. I just thought the sensor bar also did the bluetooth part. Wimpey: I said I replaced the battery pack. I have synced the Wiimote every time this happened to get it to work again.

It's two Wiimotes. And yes, the Wii immediately recognises the first Wiimote. Isn't the BT receiver the thing on the screen? Can I simply buy a new one?

comment Does Starcraft 2 run better on Windows or Mac?
I am on a Mac and the game runs faster when I check high settings. It runs very slowly with lower settings. Perhaps that is the reason?

comment Civilization V map generator
I always play the same civ (Persia). And the desert patches without mountains go on for a bit. I only play for a few moves before I give up (out of boredom). I finally managed to start a game and get a decent map (although heavily forested). Your explanation above is good, but I think the map generator is date-based and I just start games at the wrong hour. (Same happened with Alpha Centauri...)

I left all the default settings as they were. I still keep running into very boring flat worlds with random desert patches all over the place.

comment Do harbours work?
I think that is one of the benefits of the working trade network. But my problem is that my harbours do not create the trade network.

Yes and yes. I have frigates travelling around the entire continent regularly.

comment How do I move Steam games to another location on disk on my Mac?
~/Applications or ~/Games would be fine (apparently Steam games are only available to one account???) but ~/Library absolutely isn't.

Thanks. Note that they could create a directory /Applications/Steam. The point is that the home directory is for my files, not applications.

I'll try the symbolic link. I don't want applications in my home directory because a home directory is simply not the correct place for them. Both Windows and Mac OS have certain directories for certain types of data and I think Valve should not break them.

comment Does Starcraft 2 run better on Windows or Mac?
I don't see why 64 bit would be an advantage. 32 bit software probably runs marginally slower on 64 bit Windows because of the extra Wow64 layer. Also, both Mac OS and Windows are available in x86 (32 bit) and x64 (64 bit). Mac OS just happens to run both types of apps either way.
