"I can't even imagine not having a mind entirely devoted to YALORT, since I have no room in my mind for imagining, because it's all taken up by worshipping YALORT!"

My actual ship of choice is the TW-2 Kiwi Berry.

comment What does telling Whirlwind about Vessel Town affect?
From my own experience in having told him, there doesn't seem to be any real impact beyond the Medica II. Definitely doesn't get you any trouble, that's for sure.

comment How can I catch the FOE wandering around the big open area of B18F?
I recall this from the first edition of the game. However, as the terrain might be different this time around, I'm unsure if the same strategies will work. Let me rediscover what I actually did to catch the guy, though.

Just to head off folks who suggest things like bards to handle the TP issues, this is Story Mode.

@Zibbobz I could make long notes about corpses and statues (namely that you can't petrify corpses and statues don't retain the traits of their base creature while they are still statues), but the most relevant point is that a chicka/cockatrice is immune to petrification to begin with.

Ice box is basically the closest one can get, and it basically only serves as a "Keep it from rotting when I'm not actively wielding it". Which can be fine if you have a good amount of them to stash... but the main problem is that an ice box has a weight of 900. Which is huuuge.

I once wielded a knight corpse I found on the Valley of the Dead, who I named Sir Gallant the Totally Not Rotting, and even ascended with him, but that was because of a weird bug involving corpses on that floor. Alas, my biggest regret was not discovering his potential as a bludgeon until after I had already defeated Vlad. I don't know that one can get a more legitimately unrotting corpse though, short of carrying an ice box around with you.

Picnic difficulty better mean "You get harrassed by Venomflies at all times" because that's what it means to have a picnic in Etrian Odyssey.

comment Origin of the WASD key scheme
Alternatively, for keyboard games who want to stick to the left hand for directional input instead of the right hand (such as by being accustomed to console controllers). It all ultimately adds up to "Use the left hand for movement", no matter how you shake it.

comment Should I bother feeding my pets?
Bonus note: you can tell if your pet is hungry if you use a stethoscope on them. The health bar will be green if hungry, pink if full. A tamer's whip would also stop the whole rotten/fountain problem.
