I'm not too sure wherever you're talking about the sims 2 on pc or not but there might be cheats you could use to add the child back into your household if you see them again and maybe next time you can delete the social worker before the government take your baby.
On a side note, if they smell crack cocaine coming from your house they tend to be more inclined to take ya baby.
