Jul 12, 2010 at 16:59 comment added Grace Note @Ólafur In Red, Swift is still preferable on a Sandslash. Slash should be cycled out for Earthquake as soon as possible - with STAB it is much more powerful than Slash, even against enemies that resist it. Which are few in number, as Poison's weakness to Ground trumps both Bug and Grass's resistance. The only problem is against Flying types - if Swift's Power isn't sufficient, then you'd be better suited with Body Slam/Strength over sticking with Slash's lucky nature. But its movepool is so small back then that you can field both Slash and Swift with Earthquake anyway.
Jul 12, 2010 at 16:14 comment added Grace Note @Noctrine 100 accuracy is still subject to any miss chance imparted by, say, Sand Attack or Double Team. Whereas, Swift has the "no miss" property which ignores those. I updated my answer to reflect that extra fact - more reason to stick with Swift!
