I plan to create a wiki answer from all the good points which will be mentionned here. So, if you see a question which could be interesting, add it to the list! ;)
By the way, please do not post about fitting strategies, unless it's relevant about the point you're planning to demonstrate. If you want, you could still redirect us to a Battleclinic loadout.
Among all the eveEvE players, everyone knows the Tech3 Strategic Cruisers... Butbut most of them doesn't want to even think of flying those, so it's pretty hard to find some relevant information.
Here areFor starters, on the questions:PVE side, I don't see what a strategic cruiser would bring on the table that a much cheaper battleship (or drake) wouldn't.
- Since a Tier3 BS is much cheaper (or a Drake, by the way), are there overwhelming advantages which could justify the Tech3 usage?
- Are some Strategic Cruisers more suited for PVE than the others?
- Are there specific roles where a T3 cruiser is more efficient than the T2 dedicated ship?
- Pros and cons of each Strategic Cruiser.
- Roles in which a specific Strategic Cruiser shines?
- Proteus specific question(s):
On the PVP side, instead, I don't see the advantages of the tier 3 cruiser on the tier 2 dedicated ship.
- Since the evil gallente nerfbat
(hybrid weapons), does the Proteus
still have any interest as a gunboat?
- Is it possible to have a decent non-theorical dps will using the interdiction nullifier and covert reconfiguration subsystems? (Viable ship for missions lvl5?)
I guess I must be missing something! Maybe there's a specific version of this cruiser that shines in its own particular way?
ThanksI'm thinking in particular about the Proteus cruiser. Since the evil gallente nerfbat (hybrid weapons), does the Proteus still have any value as a gunboat? Is it possible to all of those who will give those questionshave a trydecent non-theorical dps will using the interdiction nullifier and covert reconfiguration subsystems? :(Viable ship for missions lvl5?)
