Connect Can I use any micro USB cable to connect wireless Xbox oneOne controller to PC?

So i've been searching and iI found that you can't connect your regular xbox oneXbox One controller to my pcPC using the Charge and playPlay kit. since the cable only provides power and no data transfer.

So iI bought a "wired" xbox oneXbox One controller for 60 dollars$60 (regular is 50$50) and found out itsit's pretty much the same controller with a standard micro usbMicro USB cable.

So my question is. Next, next time can iI just buy a regular xbox oneXbox One controller, which saves me a lot of money, and use my cellphone's micro usbUSB cable to connect it to my pcPC?
