But it had a very lo-fi sound and since it took up a lot more system resources than the standard sequenced music, many games did not utilize it. Super Mario Bros. 3 is an example of a game that made very good use of that channel, mostly for short percussive samples that added a lot of character to the soundtrack and sound effects. | |
