Feb 14, 2016 at 18:21 | comment | added | Paul Z | I'm not totally sure of this, but it seems to me that Overwatch is triggered exactly when a target moves out of a visible tile. I've found that moving up to the very first tile from which I can see an Overwatching enemy is safe, allowing me to then shoot or throw a grenade or whatever. Also, Overwatch shots are basically always in no cover, which is good; but Overwatch itself confers an aim penalty to offset that, except from ambush. I almost never take direct shots under 50% if I'm in good enough cover that I think the enemies won't shoot either. | |
