Mar 29, 2012 at 15:39 comment added M'vy To add to this answer, we have now the possibility to "show range indication" while smartcasting. In this mode, smart cast activates only on key release. Before that, range is shown. Right-click cancels. Smart cast can also be bound on Q/W/E/R if you want. On the other hand it is not possible to assign normal cast to <MOD>+Q/W/E/R

Jul 19, 2011 at 22:34 comment added M'vy @Grace you just changed my life :P BTW I find the shift key is a pretty bad choice... put a lot of strain to keep it ready to press on my KB. CAPS LOCK would have been better. I need to check if I can change that.

Jul 14, 2011 at 20:39 comment added Grace Note @Bravo It's shift for smart-cast, actually. alt is auto-targetting yourself. I was going to put that in the answer but I was double-checking that I had the button right.
Jul 14, 2011 at 20:38 comment added Bravo840 Instead of checking off smart casting for all abilities you can use the SHIFT+Q/W/E/R to smart cast just that spell.
Jul 14, 2011 at 20:35 comment added Raven Dreamer Do note that smart cast abilities attempt to cast instantly. Normally, if you were to cast Incinerate (Annie's W, frontal cone attack spell) and click on an area out of range, Annie would move up until she was in range, and then cast the spell. With smart casting, Annie would instead cast the spell instantly, in the direction of the cursor, even though the cursor was out of range.
Jul 14, 2011 at 20:34 comment added Bravo840 If no targets are selected and the spell can be cast on self it will cast the ability with your champ as the target. Also note that you can smart cast your summoner abilities. I wouldn't recommend smart casting heals or shields though as you have to rely on what the cursor thinks you are targeting.
