I did find a way to prevent them abandoning. I placed parks everywhere. I also put industrial inside the city (I had to because inner parts wont commit at all) and I put more and more industrial in neighboring cities. I am at 799K population right now and it is going well. thank you for your answers. | |

It's been many years since I played this, but when I see "173,000 population" and "bus stops" the first thing that comes to mind is that that's most likely not enough public transportation. I've had plenty of trouble with only buses and 1/3 of that population. Subways aren't very intrusive and would help quite a bit I'd think. | |
