/summon skeleton TheMinion 0 0 0

Simply put your nametag in between the entity ID and the spawn position.

or if you need to add a spawn event (such as to making a creeper charged)

/summon creeper 0 0 0 minecraft:become_charged TheCreeper
/summon skeleton TheMinion 0 0 0

Simply put your nametag in between the entity ID and the spawn position.

This solution works on JE, but not BE.

Usage

If you are in 1.12 or below, run the following command one time:

/summon skeleton ~TheMinion ~0 ~0 {CustomName:"TheMinion"}0

Simply put the name inside the quote marks of CustomName.

If you areyour nametag in 1.13-1.14, the CustomName is now a JSON text component. This allows for even more flexibility, such as changing the colour and formatting of the name tag, like bold, italics, underline, and more! The only problem is, even if you're not using these new formatting options, you'll still have to make a slight change. Usebetween the following sequences of \s and "s to startentity ID and end the name, or it won't work:

/summon skeleton ~ ~ ~ {CustomName:"\"TheMinion\""}

1.15 makes it slightly easierspawn position. Instead of having to escape every " in the string, you can surround the entire string with 's and freely use "s without escaping them:

/summon skeleton ~ ~ ~ {CustomName:'"TheMinion"'}
