Do Guards/NPC`sNPCs Respawn

Just Wondering Mainly if GuardsDo guards respawn like they do in Oblivion, im? I'm guessing NPC'sNPCs don't respawn but i wontedI want to check that too just in case. Guards Guards are fairly easy to kill making them an easy way of getting Dark souls so long as they do respawn.
