In Rayman Origins you primarily collect Lums.

At the end of each level there is a giant tube with a Teensie performing bizarre acts on it. The tube will fill withwhich gathers all the lums you've collected throughthroughout the level and at certain points.

As the tube fills you will hit checkpoints represented by set amounts (commonly 300, 350) you'll gain anotherfixed values that will earn you pink smiley face thingofaces.

When you fill the entire tube you are awarded a medal.

In Rayman 2, I remember it taking me many, many hours to collect every single last Lumlum - and there was an exact amount of lums that needed to be collected in each level.

A number of times now, I've collected 5-10up to a dozen more lums than what willis required to fill the entire tube. This seems weird - is it supposed to happen? In my mind the tube being full represents you collecting every lum in the level, but it seems like there are actually up to a dozen more.

Do these overflow lums count towards anything? Why are they there?
