I've heard that Diablo III requires a persistent internet connection even in solo play. Does anyone have any sources to this effect? If so this is disappointing.

Is it true that Does Diablo 3 will require you to be connected to thean internet justconnection to play solo?

This is what I've been hearing. I never had to plug my NES into my phone jack toheard that Diablo III requires a persistent internet connection even in solo play Super Mario Brothers, so I don't see how this could possibly be true with Diablo 3. Can Does anyone offerhave any links that prove this to be true?

Edit: Going to mark the first answer as best since it looks to be true. I am very disappointed. I wantsources to get this game, but general principle will make me keep my money in my pocket.effect? If my internet goes out or Blizzard's servers go down, I want to still be able to play the game that I paid for with my money that I earned (Edit: working at a job)so this is disappointing.
