Jan 27, 2011 at 21:28 comment added tzenes I also don't get why you want to use snipe on armored units. Both Ultralisks and Roaches are better handled with Marauder play than Ghost play. Snipe would be largely wasted on Roaches in particular because of their high HP and low DPS. Better sources would definitely be: Muta, Hydralisk, Banelings.
Jan 27, 2011 at 21:27 comment added tzenes @Nick I'm not sure what you mean as "Front-Line." If you look at mid-late game Muta play, they stop being a Harassment unit and start becoming a the "Hammer" you bring down on engagements. Maybe not the first to engage, but definitely part of those stand up battles. So building a bunch of Ghosts into your Marine balls to support a Tank line is a very effective strategy.
Jan 27, 2011 at 16:47 comment added Nick T Mutas shouldn't be used as a front-line unit unless you have a ton of them/are in some massive battle, so while a ball of Ghosts may be a good "counter" to a ball of Mutas, they are practically going to be near pointless while they chase Mutas all over the map while they're doing harass. Not sure about snipe, but energy for damage, snipe is better spent on more armored units as it ignores damage reduction. This doesn't take into account the DPS of the enemy unit though.

Sep 30, 2010 at 18:53 comment added tzenes @Wik I've covered this elsewhere but snipe is incredible effective vs Muta. Additionally ghosts do high dps vs light (which Muta are). When faced with The Magic Box I'd say Ghost+Marine is a far better usage of resources than a Thor.
