Mar 16, 2017 at 20:57 | comment | added | Fluidized Pigeon Reactor | @theJollySin I am pretty sure that the answer doesn't take into that into account. I would suggest that the answer also noted that you can kind of double your dps when using one handed weapons, and furthermore, the are 2 duel wielding perks which GREATLY increases DPS Furthermore, +46 is not the highest you can get without exploits. With the black books in the dragonborn DLC, you can get to +44% (or was it 42%) smithing, and a potion that gives +170% ish smithing. Not sure how relevant that is though.

Aug 7, 2012 at 21:23 | comment | added | kotekzot | @Anderson I'm not sure how to calculate that. if anybody knows how long different weapons take to do a power attack I might be able to figure it out. DavidB has got some data on power attacks, but it appears to be damage per hit, not DPS.
Aug 7, 2012 at 18:41 | comment | added | oscilatingcretin | That's a good question. The outcome could determine whether or not it's even beneficial to use a power attack.
Aug 7, 2012 at 17:52 | comment | added | Anderson | How do DPS ratios hold up if you do power attacks instead of regular attacks?
Aug 7, 2012 at 17:47 | comment | added | Anderson | @oscilatingcretin uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Weapons Speed, reach, and damage for each weapon/weapon type are listed there. You can also get the data directly from Creation Kit.
Aug 7, 2012 at 17:44 | comment | added | Anderson | If the weapon is enchanted, it favors speed even more. Much much more.
Aug 7, 2012 at 16:31 | comment | added | oscilatingcretin | So it appears that I am doing well with sticking with my Daedric greatsword. On my next playthrough (I never thought I'd do a second and am now on my fourth), I'll see about developing my one-handed with the plan to use daggers once my smithing is up there. Where are you guys getting these charts? I'd like to look at the source data myself.
Aug 7, 2012 at 1:47 | comment | added | kotekzot | @DavidB I've updated my answer with calculations for +46 damage. The result is less impressive, but still favors speed.

Aug 7, 2012 at 0:35 | comment | added | Amy B | This page (uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Smithing) lists a maximum non-exploit smithing increase of +46 to weapons. Would that even up the difference in dps compared to +100?
