I've played a lot of Mario Party 8, and I can't seem to ever remember having experienced the battle mini game being for more than 20 coins per player (and usually it's 10 per player).

Does anyone know what the chances are for a 50-coin-per-player battle (and maybe the others as well)?

generally if more people have a higher number of coins it will select a bigger pot. I can't confirm this because I haven't played in a while, but the earlier mario parties were definitely set up that way – Rapitor Aug 19 '13 at 13:24

Is this even something that could be tested for? I mean, there are many variables in this, such as the turns for the match, turns left, coins in circulation, and the Random Number Generator. I would like to say, if you wanted to test this, I'd recommend starting by increasing the turns in a game. This will allow for more chances at 50 coin matches, and more chances to get coins, because a 50 coin match in my experience hasn't happened unless at least 2 people could pay the full price. – WingManEXE Aug 21 '13 at 22:10

I agree that figuring this out experimentally would be quite a job. – Christian Neverdal Aug 22 '13 at 11:24

I have been playing this game since it came out, and I have never gotten a 50. I'm pretty sure this game is just showing the 50 but never giving it. – Seiyria May 5 '14 at 16:38
