Playing as Rome a civil war seems to trigger sooner or later in the campaign.

Is there anyway to avoid civil war completely during the campaign, or at least until a victory condition is met? Or will civil war happen at some point no matter what?

  • I'm thinking this is a scripted event, that will always happen.

  • Out of curiosity: when does a civil war occur? I've gotten past turn 100 and still haven't seen it.

  • If you play as Rome the Civil War will ALWAYS happen. Like Lyrion said it's scripted. Commented Oct 1, 2013 at 11:10

As ShinoGH said, "The only way to avoid civil war is to maintain a balance between all houses involved in a faction. Not too strong, yet not too weak either. "

In the TW series, there are editors you can use to change scripts OR scripts that can be changed with the help of notepad++. Try this link for the script that can be changed (I haven't found an editor, as I haven't actively looked. If you can't find one, you can try notepad++ as it can work correctly in SOME situations). ALWAYS MAKE a backup of the file you want to edit!!!:
