Is it possible to track non-steam game hours? Almost any game was possible with Xfire, does steam has a similar functionality?

If so, how?

We can't answer the "Why not" part of the question; that's asking why they designed it a certain way. We might be able to answer the "How to do it" part, though. – Frank Mar 5 '14 at 17:35

Steam does not offer any time tracking for non-Steam games.

It's a greatly requested feature, but there has been no word on reasoning or plans for the future.

That said, there are obviously various alternatives, most notably Xfire (as you already know). There appears to be no option that integrates directly with Steam.
