I play on the DivineJourney modpack with a friend, but he wants to constantly spawn things in. Is there any way to allow him to be able to use the teleport command, but not be able to spawn in items?

I've already locked the NEI mode to Recipe.

I've looked around for a mod for plug-ins for Forge (as thats what the server is on) but I couldn't find anything thats up to date. I found Sponge, but thats for 1.8+, and I need 1.7.10.

Not a direct answer to the question, but a potential solution: Talk to your friend and tell them why they shouldn't spawn items. – Ave Nov 9 '17 at 21:27
  • I tried, many times. I told him to go to singleplayer creative if he wants to spawn stuff, but he said it's boring alone. He told me to give him admin to see how he behaves, so for the whole 10 minutes of gameplay he tried to figure out how to spawn stuff instead of actually playing, and then started spawning a bunch of stuff, at which point I just gave up. I'd rather just play single player. – xKetjow Nov 9 '17 at 22:28

My suggestion, take away admin and make him walk. – IronAnvil Nov 10 '17 at 4:58
  • Hmm... It might be possible to detect items that were given with commands. But it would need a giant command block/function system to exclude every other way you can get an item, including detecting changes in chests and finding the same item in the inventory... Wait, it might be possible to give all items that you can get without cheating a certain tag and detect all items that don't have it. But I don't know if that works in all cases. Would certainly be an interesting programming challenge. But the performance on the server would be pretty bad with it. – Fabian Röling Nov 10 '17 at 7:14

Yes, using the ForgeEssentials Mod for Minecraft 1.7.10.

*This is a MOD, not a plugin, so there is no need for sponge, etc.

On their website: http://forgeessentials.com/

It details:

FE adds the most powerful permission system ever seen in Minecraft. Make usergroups and restrict permissions for guests to keep your server grief-free. With over 250 basic permissions and hundreds of block- / item-based permissions there is nearly nothing you cannot do

By using their WIKI: https://github.com/ForgeEssentials/ForgeEssentials/wiki/Permissions-tutorial

We can use the permissions to do what you need.

/p group nocheat create

This creates an empty group called "nocheat"

Then we need to deny them the "/give" permission (that is how NEI gives items to players)

/p group nocheat deny minecraft.give minecraft.give.*

/p group nocheat deny fe.give fe.give.*

Then your friends should not be able to summon items, but still teleport!

You can also use this for all of your permissions from now on.
