In previous versions of MineCraft I could make a teleporter with this command block: /tp @p 300 65 1000 This would teleport the nearest player to block 300,65,1000

In Minecraft 1.13 however, I can't use this. The console keeps returning 'player not found' whenever I use a target selector (@s,@p,@a,...) This applies both to command blocks and chat commands. Commands like 'tp @a MyName' or 'tp @s 1000 70 1000' also don't work because target selectors are not recognized.

The syntax assistant seems to not accept target selectors but only real player names. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this a thing to be patched in the future?

NOTE: all things mentioned above apply to both /tp and /teleport commands.

Many thanks for your time and help!

Works for me. I use /tp @s 0 100 0 all the time. What error message do you get? – Fabian Röling Aug 2 '18 at 22:42
  • With 1.13, a lot of command stuff changed. Just not the exact command you wrote above. Are you sure that's the exact command you were having issues with? I had many commands that took the closest person, if they were within a radius of 5 blocks. All those commands broke in 1.13. Might that be your problem? – John Jan 10 '19 at 12:49
  • "The console keeps..." Are you not doing this through in-game commands/command blocks? – Quijibo Jun 9 '19 at 13:12

Try just using /tp (Location) and see if that works unless you need to tp the nearest player in which case your command should work fine

To teleport yourself try /tp @a[name=] Also @s only works with execute command in command blocks

  • @a[name=] is the same like just writing the player name itself, what's the point of it? – Quijibo Jun 9 '19 at 13:10
