Me and my Friends have been playing on a modded Minecraft server. However when we restarted it because we hadn't in a while and when we tried to launch it it didn't work. It turns out a chunk was too big. We discovered It was a Colossal Chest Core with thousands of items in it. Is their any way to increase the chunk storage limit. We are ok with adding new mods.

Minecraft was designed to work with current size of chunks so increasing it could break the game. I suggest using a third-party tool such as this one: https://www.universalminecrafteditor.com to remove the chest from the chunk or move the items into multiple chunks.

  • "current size of chunks"? what does that mean? – Corsaka Feb 10 at 9:22
  • @Corsaka the size of chunks the game was designed to handle. I don't work for Mojang but I looked into how the game saves its chunks to the disk and judging from what I learned, Minecraft's architecture is not designed to handle higher values. – MegaCrafter10 Feb 10 at 12:54
