I was playing over Hamachi with my cousin, and we were viewing a world we made a while ago. However, when she joined, she mentioned that certain things looked different to how she remembered, and on a Discord screen share we realised that everything she saw was a warped version of the Minecraft world I was sharing. All blocks were in the right places, but most had been replaced by different blocks. She could also interact with the blocks as if they were what she saw, although on my client she was interacting with what I saw.

Does anyone know what might have caused this glitch, and how to recreate/fix it? We tried on different worlds; for this world, even when the connection was reset, everything stayed jumbled, but other worlds we connected to together were normal.

  • It could be a version difference? I.e. the server version got updated, but for some reason, her client version was still running an old version? Maybe try deleting the save folder for that world on her machine, which will force her client to re-download the world.

  • We did wonder that, but the only difference we could think of was that she wasn’t using WorldEdit, and the glitch occurred only on that world. Where is the cached world saved on her machine?

  • If you're on Windows, in the File Explorer, type into the address bar %appdata%, and you should see a .minecraft folder. Open this, and you should see a saves folder. In there, you will see a folder for every world you currently have access to. Delete the one with the same name as the one in game, then re-connect to the world in Minecraft. This should reload the world for her.
