Piano Tiles is a single-player app launched on March 28, 2014 by Umoni Studio, which is the company where creator Hu Wen Zeng is from. The game has five modes, that were created by Amr Hoballah, these are the Classic mode, the Arcade mode, the Zen mode, the Rush mode and the Relay mode. In late-April 2014 the game was the most downloaded application on both the iOS and Android platforms.

How are the positions of the tiles determined?
How is the lane/position of each falling tile determined? Is it random or is there a pattern?
I am referring to the mobile game Piano Tiles - Dont Tap The White Tile ( iOS | Android ).
