In minecraft, I'm about to make a portal and enter the Nether, but I have a problem with this. Supposedly when you enter the Nether, you can be directly above lava. Nn'stuff. This is fixed by the game sending the portal you create in the Nether to a safe area. Unfortuanely, that means that when you RE-enter that portal to go back to the real world place thing, you end up a million miles away from your settlement. And are therefore quickly destroyed by everything. D:

My question is: IS THIS TRUE?
and if so: HOW CAN YOU USE THE COMPASS TO GET BACK?
