The Personal Break was introduced in the May 2013 patch. According to this thread on the forums, a break will occur after eight hours of continuous play; you'll need to close the app for a few minutes before you can play again. This was apparently introduced to prevent players from staying online continuously and avoiding attacks.
Update: the new patch 12/...
This a good question, and pretty much every new player gets duped into doing this at one point or another. The answer is "the edge of the world is not a wall". You can try for yourself and see that when attacking you can drop troops outside the edge of the map. Villages that attempt to use the edge as a boundary quickly learn it doesn't protect you.
From the Clash of Clans wiki:
The letters in P.E.K.K.A don't officially stand for anything in
particular. Supercell held a Facebook contest on 22 August 2012 to see
who could come up with the best written-out name for P.E.K.K.A as
judged by the number of likes the comment received. The name "Perfect
Enraged Knight Killer of Assassins" was the ...
Official answer from Supercell. Scroll down to about mid page. War map rank is determined by overall defense.
Once a match is found, players are sorted on the map from strongest to weakest, in terms of defence power of their base, i.e., defense levels, hero levels, traps, etc.
We do ...
Since clan castles generally have more hp than loot storage, they will be harder to be destroyed completely, and they will only receive loot once they have fully destroyed it.
According to this only 3% of the loot stored in your clan castle can be taken during a raid. Whereas 20% can be stolen from your gold storage and elixir storage according to the wiki.
The bases are ordered from highest to lowest strength.
Strength is based on each member’s attacking power this includes available types and levels of troops, army camp capacity, spells and heroes. Along with your defensive strength, which includes defensive buildings, walls, traps and heroes.
Your position has nothing to do with your trophies, Player ...
In short, what funneling does is eliminate possible paths that your units might take in order to make them take the path you want. This can be done with almost every troop, and it relies on knowing how target selection works.
To get started, most troops will attack whatever building or object they prioritize that is closest to them, with some variations. ...
Whatever the highest level your buildings are before the end of the preparation day is the level of those buildings during the war. Anything under construction in your "normal" base will revert to the level it was before you started the upgrade in your "war" base.
This is from the Clan Wars FAQ, written by a SuperCell employee:
The war base can not be ...
It is a bit weird at first - the destruction of your base only yields a hunk of your resources being stolen. Repairing your base takes only a few seconds and costs very little.
The overall goal in the game is pretty murky. There are ever-increasing base upgrade goals to be met, which you will gain either by waiting for your own resources to collect, or ...
Until you reach Town Hall 5, 20% from your gold/elixir can be stolen from the storages. The cap for this is 200k. From TH6 and onwards, this percentage drops by 2% for each TH level. From TH7 and above the cap increases with 50k for each TH level.
So for clarity and completeness (and no calculations):
TH Level % Available to be Stolen Cap Storage ...
Clans in Clash of Clans are considered to be property of the leader. With that said, a leader can invite or expell anyone who he pleases, and that does not break the rules.
The only exception is when inviting and expelling breaks war rules (by exploiting a loophole of sorts).
Other than that there is no reason to report a clan leader, unless he is cheating ...
The only requirement is that a clan must have at least 5 members eligible for war. (This used to be 10, but 5 vs 5 war size is also available now.)
Members who are new to your clan will be ineligible for war if they left their previous clan while a war was in progress. They will become eligible for war again when the previous war is completed. You can check ...
miva2 points out very good reasons, but also there's the practical side. It's a good idea to have your gold/elixir/dark elixir in whichever is guarded better (or closest to the center of your base). Additionally, goblins don't target your clan castle, because it's not classified as a storage. So, overall, I think it's better to keep your resources in your ...
Yes that is normal.
If you drop troops in a battle they won't be sent back to your Army Camp, even if they are still alive when you win.
There is an exception to this - Heroes. They will return back to your base once the battle is finished.
There is no consequences for leaving your game for a week... The only thing that would happen is that your base would be raided (loss of resources), unless you have bought a shield.
All shield and trophy mechanics will still remain as if you were still playing; you gain shield for losing defenses, lose trophies (or earn if someone screws up their attack), ...
The reason you saw clans with more wars won than you is because that wars that were won (or lost) prior to the update were not counted when adding the clan XP.
Only wars won after the update will count towards gaining Clan XP.
If I see the shield is going to expire in the middle of the night, or at another time I won't be able to check my phone, I prefer to disable the guard/shield immediately, while my collectors are empty. Few hours later, with collectors filling in, the loots available to attackers would be much larger, or I could be attacked multiple times by looters that only ...
I took a break for about a year and just reinstalled it for this question. Below are screenshots of my base immediately after opening the app.
All of my collectors were almost full, I was kicked out of my Clan, I am not placed in any league, and my land has a lot of trees/rubbish on it (usually I had it clean).
Their EULA must have changed, as I had to ...
Yes it is necessary to destroy all teslas.
According to the wiki
The only exception to this rule is that Hidden Teslas will reveal themselves once a base has incurred at least 51% damage, as they must be destroyed (along with all other buildings) in order to achieve 3 stars.
Well.. rarely do you get a more definitive answer than from the developers themselves:
How does the Wall Breaker choose its target?
Steps 1, 2, 3
1. It will look for the nearest building/turret that is trapped (fully or partially) by walls
2. It will choose the shortest path towards that building and blow up walls that are in its way
3. After the ...
You can be attacked at any time where your shield is not active.
If you look at the top of the screen you will see an information label that says "Shield". At any time that this says "None" you can be attacked by other players (excluding times where you are actively playing - i.e. the game is open on your device).
When you first start the game you are ...
You can earn gems for free in the following ways:
Clearing up the trees, bushes, rocks, etc. that spawn around your village. Rocks do not re-spawn once you remove them.
Earning achievements in the game rewards you with gems. Check your achievement progress in-game to see how many you can earn and from what.
Once you've unlocked your Builder Base and ...
Scout out and allocate all the easy targets first - Make sure the poorly defended bases are allocated first and to clan members who will be taking part. These are the easy pickings and therefore you must be getting 3 stars on each. They can be allocated to the weaker members of the clan as long as you know they're going to turn up and do the job.
The troops in the clan castle indeed defend each attack.
You can be attacked more than two times in a war, but your clan castle is always full for defending against those attacks, full of whatever was in the castle at the end of the war's preparation phase.
Additionally in war:
Heroes are always active to defend your War village.
Defenses like Xbows and ...
You cannot store more than you receive, so yes, any extra resources you obtain via looting is wasted after you raid a player.
In this scenario, you also will not be able to collect resources from the collectors in question and they will instead accumulate in your collector's own storage (every collector has some storage).
This holds true for gold, elixir ...
According to the Clash of Clans wiki:
If you have a Golem in your Clan Castle, and it splits into Golemites during a defense, it will become a Golem again after the defense if at least one Golemite survives the battle.
So Golemites will return as Golems if at least one survives.
I could not find any sources for lava pups, however I assume ...
Not being in a clan significantly limits what you can do in the game as the game is mainly based around you being in a clan, hence the name. Without a clan:
You will not be able to receive troop or spell donations to fill your clan castle which increases your attacking strength nor will you be able to donate spells or troops which give you experience (...
