Mario Party 2 is the second installment of the Mario Party board game-style franchise released on the Nintendo 64 in 1999. The goal of the game is to be the player with the highest number of stars on the board at the end of a game.

The players can play on different kind of boards. Every turn, they are able to roll a dice to define the number of cases they can walk on. After every player rolled the dice, a mini-game is launched, and the winners will get rewarded by coins. The goal of the game is to get the highest number of stars by buying those on a particular case of the board.
The game contains the six playable characters of the first game: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong and Wario. They all wear a specific outfit depending on the board the players are playing on.
