Complete the quest: "Ladies of the Wood".
I finally found the Baron's wife, it turns out the part about investigating all remaining leads refers to the leads about Ciri. There are two quest series about Ciri in Velen, and at this point you have to follow the other quest series to complete the "Family Matters" quest, and "Ladies of the Wood".
Because sadly nobody felt like answering this question despite the 100 point bounty I had to torture Geralt in the name of science and let some low-level nekars beat him up in various stages of undress.
I recorded the numbers in a spreadsheet and came to the following conclusions:
The damage formula is Damage = (inital_damage - armor) * (1 - resistance)
Use the Igni Sign to kill the bees and knock the beehive down.
Once its on the ground you can harvest it. Figured this out a little bit later, initially could not even attempt this as the beehive I was trying various methods on was near an NPC and the game restricted me from using Igni.
Edit: I've been informed this has been patched and can no longer be performed.
In short, the merchant at "Odrin and Friends - Bottlemen" in Novigrad. Here's the long of it:
Most merchants are very stingy when buying your loot. There are a few merchants though that buy at 100% of the item's value. So a stack of junk that may usually be worth only a few ...
Without a screenshot, I'm guessing you mean the (altitude) location indicators.
These little red arrows indicate that an object is above (arrow points upwards) or below (arrow points downwards) your current location.
Even the quests that begin with "Meet me at the docks / tavern / Court of the (X) immediately" have no limit on starting / finishing, and will wait patiently for you to arrive (sometimes, admittedly, jibing you about hunting Drowners or similar when you arrive).
Quests (as you mention) that require you to meet folk/monsters at a given time of day will ...
He does explain this - in the short story titled "The Last Wish".
In short, it's because sometimes portals misfire, and people indeed come out of them in multiple pieces. Or don't come out at all. Or come out at places completely different from their intended destination.
The relevant quote is as follows:
On the damp bath-chamber wall shone the ...
Apparently there is a slightly reduced level of XP gain (90%) for Blood and Broken Bones.
Although at just into level 4, you would stay there even at 100% gain.
I don't think level 4 is that low for leaving White Orchard
I suspect the level 8 comment on reddit is just an anomaly. Certainly others in that thread and other threads suggest 4/5 is normal.
There are definitely repercussions.
I looted some things in the military camp near the first village, wanting to see if there were any repercussions (keeping in mind I did it in plain sight) and I promptly got my arse handed to me by the entire encampment.
They took some cash from my pockets and rather than reloading from last save, I 'woke up' in the ...
You replenish bombs the same way you replenish your witcher potions - by meditating. You'll use 1 of your strong alcohols, but it will replenish everything.
A list of strong spirits can be found in this question
Similar to horses, double tapping the acceleration key (A on the controller) does make the boat go faster. This is not indicated in the UI, so it's easy to miss.
But by far the quickest way is to use harbors, they're fast travel points for boats. They are only visible on the map when you're at the helm of a boat. Just open the map while you're on a boat and ...
Yes, Roach is much faster, generally speaking. There are a few advantages to running, mainly that you can go through water, while Roach may or may not be able to.
However, Roach doesn't take fall damage, so you can jump from cliffs while on Roach and not die. Another advantage to using Roach is that you can auto-run along paths and not worry about straying....
If you never played any Witcher game before you might not understand some parts of the Witcher 3.
Let me explain.
You will not experience that little smile or frown when you meet a character from a previous game (Good or Bad ;) ). Some parts will just fly above you and you won't understand much.
"Who is this?"/"Why is he treating me like this?", you won'...
Note: This vendor was patched in version 1.12 (released in January 2016). The alchemist no longer buys at 100% of cost. Leaving the answer up as it might be relevant to GoG purchasers who haven't patched.
The alchemist near Oxenfurt Gate (north east of Novigrad) will buy trophies from you, for a better price. He also sells extremely reasonably priced ...
You can repair damaged items in one of two ways:
At any Smith, navigate to the Repair menu (part of the "Craft something for me?" options, between Crafting and Remove Upgrade).
You can then either repair all of your damaged items (which can potentially be expensive) or repair a single item by selecting it and pressing E (or the ...
For any Human or common animal you should use the Steel Sword and they will have a red Health Bar.
For any Monster type you should use the Silver Sword. These monsters will have a grey/silver Health Bar.
Look at the Wraith (a Monster) Grey Health Bar therefore you use Silver Sword
And now look at these bandits getting roasted. Red Health Bar ...
This is a bug introduced in path 1.05. You can work around it by dropping the crafted mutagen on the ground. Then you'll be able to craft another one. You'll have to repeat this until you have enough mutagens to craft the greater mutagen.
This bug is fixed in patch 1.06 that was released just now
For the most part no, however some quests will require you to be present in a given location at/around a certain time of day/night. And you can't, for instance, hunt nightwraiths at high noon (or noonwraiths at midnight), and most villagers will sleep during the night and work during the day, and so on.
And of course, if you go to sleep for 16 hours when ...
In a really cool feature that I've been wanting to see in more games, people will purchase items related to their trade for a higher price, even to the point of not purchasing unrelated items!
This leads to smiths paying a higher percentage of the "inventory valuation" for armour/weapons, herbalists paying more for herbs and alchemical ingredients, and... ...
Just to add: you will have the ability to respec, or reassign, your abilities. It comes in the form of an item, the Potion of Clearance, which you can buy for 1,000 crowns from merchants in Novigrad or fairly early on from Keira. If you want to get one immediately, this is where you'll find her:
There are 69 points from leveling to the level cap of 70 and ...
Enemies respawn if you don't clear an area - if it's a den/camp, and you "complete" it (dull grey on the map), they will no longer respawn
Herbs respawn all the time
Lootable objects (chests, crates, etc) do not respawn
My technique for this monster. I rely on dodging and the fast attack skills, other tactics might vary by build.
You'll want to dodge instead of rolling or parrying. If you roll, you'll be too far away to strike them, and parrying you'll still take damage. Also, you will not be able to counter so holding down the Parry button is a waste.
Watch the ...
Beware for Spoilers if you want to read the books!
I believe the reason Dijkstra hates Geralt goes beyond the games. The games are based on a series of books and they meet each other a few times throughout. One of the times, and I think this is the one the other answer is referring to, is when the entire Chapter coup is taking place (Sorcerers and ...
In the Witcher 3 the base you can refill on seems to be: Alcohest
There is also:
These were confirmed already.
You get it pretty early on in the game and it is pretty common. You can also buy it from Brams Shop in White Orchard
This is how it looks in the game:

This means that some of your armor parts are (partially) broken and need to be repaired.
The first number (white, 30) indicates your armor value. In your case your character's armor would have a value of 30.
The second number (red, -1) shows you that your armor is broken and how much you lose of that value. So in your case the broken armor reduces your ...
