X-Com: UFO Defense (aka UFO: Enemy Unknown in Europe, and X-Com: Enemy Unknown in the Playstation port) is a turn-based tactical squad shooter published in 1994 by Microprose. This tag should be used for the original 1994 game for PC, Amiga and Playstation, and not the 2012 PC remake XCOM: Enemy Unknown or any of the other X-Com sequels.

It has a cult following, and is considered by many to be one of the best PC games of all time.
Gameplay occurs over two places: isometric 3d combat missions in the "Battlescape", and an isometric view of the world known as the "Geoscape" where base building, research, and recruitment occurs.
This tag should be used for the original 1994 game only, and not any of the remakes.
