In past Harvest Moon games I've played, your baby has always been a boy; in Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, is this still true, or is the gender randomized/fixed to your partner/can be chosen.

Pregnancy and Having a Baby - Harvest Moon: A New Beginning implies that it's random:
If not the gender you want, reload the save game back to [the day before the birth is to take place] and go to bed to witness the birth event again. Repeat until you get your desired gender.
