In the War Bonds shop, some items require Special Task medals in addition to warbonds to purchase.

My question is this: does buying something that requires special task medals use them up like warbonds, or can they be reused?

Buying something from the War Bonds shop will not use up your Special Task medals.

These medals are only there to prevent you from buying better rewards without grinding missions first. They are reset with each Battle Pass season, so you will need to grind them again each season. However, your War Bonds will be used up upon purchase.
