Is it possible to use Game Pass for PC in a game-sharing setup?

I have an Xbox Live subscription and am able to log into both the Xbox and Game Pass for PC. I need to ensure that I'm logged into the Windows storeMicrosoft Store with the same credentials as my Xbox account in order for it to work. MyMy son has an Xbox and we use game sharing, which lets him access Game Pass games on the Xbox.

So far, so good. However... We've However; we've just bought him a new PC, and he's unable to use Game Pass on his PC. ItIt just keeps prompting him to sign up to Game Pass, which is not ideal.

Is this a known limitation, or is there something I'm missing?

One final note ... on -my- PC, I'm using the Xbox (Beta)Beta app. II can't find this for download anywhere any more, so my son is just using the basic Xbox app from Microsoft Store on his PC. IsCould this be a factor?
