A 2015 fantasy role-playing game in the style of the classic Infinity Engine games (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Torment) that was funded through Kickstarter.

Pillars of Eternity is a fantasy role-playing game created by Obsidian Entertainment. Released on March 26th, 2015, it is modeled after the classic D&D games released using Bioware's Infinity Engine: Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment.

The player's character is created using a game engine that is similar to D&D, with 6 primary statistics and 11 classes. Character race and background affect both statistics and skills. The player can adventure with up to 5 companions, some of whom have distinct backstories and side quests.

Combat uses a real-time engine with the ability to pause on demand or as a triggered action.

Pillars of Eternity was funded through Kickstarter, receiving $3,986,929 in funding, and is published by Paradox Interactive.
