The same question has already been asked (here), but I'm still stuck after reading the hint given there. To end up at the "e" in "err" (so I can use db to delete the letters in red) I am trying to reach the "e" in "stare", but this is as close as I can get (so I would need 2 more keystrokes).

Is there an alternative to trying to go down using the "j" key? If that's the only option, we'd need to reach across to the "e" in "err" in one keystroke, which seems impossible to me. What am I missing?

I just played Vim Adventures, levels 1 through 10. Some of the puzzles have been updated, and solutions that worked the last time I played may not quite work; but I think this puzzle is unchanged. Here is a more explicit explanation of how I solved the first puzzle in level 6.

  1. Starting on m in "some", go down with j 8 times.
    • Now you are below the puzzle, below the c in "Back".
  2. To enter the puzzle, go up once with k.
  3. To get to the text you need to delete, press b three times.
    • Now you are at the a in the red "asdf ".
  4. Use dw to delete the "asdf "
    • (Note the trailing space; you have to use dw or dW because de / dE will not include the trailing space).
  5. A yellow key is released.
