I'm trying out Steam Music right now and I"m trying to get the sound to an audible level.

However for some reason it seems the volume seems very muted, despite the fact the volume level bar is at the max.

How do I fix this?

Check if Steam is at a lower volume in the Windows volume mixer (assuming you're on Windows 7/8).

The Steam volume is independent from your computer's volume. Make sure your speakers and audio output are turned up.

Also, if you are using Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11, the volume level of the Steam application in your volume mixer might be unbalanced compared to your master speaker volume. To fix this, right-click on the white speaker symbol in the bottom right area of your taskbar and click "Volume Mixer" or "Open volume mixer" (in Windows 11). In the applications area, you might see that Steam or Steam Music is set to a lower value than the speaker master volume slider. If this is the case, just drag the slider up to match the master volume level.
